The human body has a subtle energy system with hundreds of locations containing focused and concentrated energy. However, there are seven major energy centers, which represent one of the most foundational subtle energy systems called the chakras. Chakras are spinning vortexes of energy located within the etheric body running from the pubic area all the way up the torso into the crown of our head. We receive, transmit and process life energies through the chakras and each one is recognized as a focal point for life-force relating to spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional energies.
Sahasrara Chakra – Crown Chakra
The seventh chakra is called the Crown Chakra – Sahasrara Chakra. The Crown Chakra represents the part of our consciousness concerned with perception of unity or separation. Like the Root Chakra shows our connection to the Earth, the Crown Chakra shows our relationship with the Divine. The Crown Chakra is the source of spiritual energy and connects us to a higher power, confirming to us that we are not only connected to all things in the material world, but also in the heavenly planes, the past and the future. Located at the very top of our head the Sahasrara Chakra is the energy center associated with transcendental consciousness and a connection to a greater world beyond, a timeless, space less, all-knowing space. The Sanskrit name – Sahasrara – means ‘one thousand’ implying that its magnitude and significance is vast and unlimited.
When the Crown Chakra is open and balanced, you can connect to your inner being and feel you are one with the Divine. You feel a sense of bliss from within and begin to understand the purpose of life. A healthy Crown Chakra means you are generally a happier person because you know you are connected to all that exists – the energy of nature, the energy of the universe and the energy of the Divine. You will never feel lonely because you know the Divine energy flows through you.

Is your Crown Chakra open?
Answer the following questions:
- Are you having trouble accepting something?
- Are you feeling let down with life?
- Are you feeling superior?
- Are you feeling alienated?
- Do you feel a lack of enthusiasm to live your life?
- Are your judgments based on facts?
- Are you having trouble knowing what to do with yourself?
When the Crown Chakra is imbalanced or closed, you may feel like you are in an existential and spiritual crisis. You may feel lonely, isolated and meaningless and your live can appear random, hopeless and pointless.
The Crown Chakra accumulates all of the energy from the other six chakras and connects our material bodies with our higher selves. Having an active and balanced Crown Chakra is key to elevate our thoughts by strengthening our connection with the divine.
One of the unique aspects of our Nak’d Flow Yoga let you play with Asanas (yoga poses), Bhandas (energy locks), Pranayama (breath work) and Chakras (energy systems).
There are many ways to balance the Crown Chakra:
Any form of Prayer and Meditation helps open the Crown Chakra.
Take some time every day to be still in silence, read a book, sit in the park, take a walk.
Help others for the sake of helping others alone.
Choose love. Learn how to love yourself, so you can fully love another.
Focus and wear the color violet, imagining your Crown Chakra.
Using scents, crystals and positive affirmations like ‘I am connected to the Divine’, ‘I am one with the Universe’, ‘I am blessed’, ‘I am loved’, ‘I honor all others’ and ‘I accept all that comes into my day with trust and selflessness’ to connect to the Spirit.
